The Langlands has been named for William Langlands, the architect who originally developed the site in the mid-1800s.
Architects Warren and Mahoney have created a contemporary design that is a nod to the past. The lower half of the external cladding a brick like facade similar to the era of the time. The upper floors have a more modern look, designed as a lantern that hovers over the fabric of the city. The Hotel’s interior is a subtle representations of a time gone by.
Delicate features have been repurposed and their story is now interwoven with The Langlands.
Located a short drive from Invercargill Airport, The Langlands Hotel is perfectly situated to discover the sights and sounds of Waihopai, with Queens Park nearby, some great shopping spots and a host of café and bars within walking distance. Stay a while longer and use it as a base to explore the neighbouring areas like The Catlins, Riverton or even Stewart Island/Rakiura.
