Our Venue
Our combined meeting room, Puaka is named after a star in the Orion constellation. Like Matariki, it signals the start of Maori New Year and is commonly acknowledged in the southern part of New Zealand.
Puaka is located on the first floor of the hotel and caters for up to 110 people theatre style. This flexible space can be divided in to two private spaces Waitī (up to 50pax) and Waitā (up to 60).
Named after stars in the Matariki constellation, Waitī is connected to fresh water and Waitā is the star connected to the many kinds of food gathered from the sea. Given our region Murihiku, Southland has the largest coastline in New Zealand the names are fitting.
Whatever the event or occasion, our team will design a function to suit your requirements. The hotel’s main function rooms can be used for a vast array of events including meetings, presentations, product launches and more.
Our Food
From morning tea to business lunches and private dining, The Langlands food experience, led by Head Chef Noel Morales, promises to nourish and fulfil our guests. Our team will work with you to create the perfect menu for your conference or event.
If you’re looking for somewhere more private, we have several bespoke areas available for exclusive hire. The mezzanine above Meld, the hotel’s signature restaurant, is perfect for private dinners and board meetings for intimate groups of up to 16 people. 360 the top floor bar, is the ideal spot for cocktail functions for groups of up to 60, the unparalleled views of the city providing a spectacular backdrop.
